Dark chocolate peppermint cake




This is a cake to delight your tastebuds for the holidays! It's like Chic-Fil-A's peppermint chocolate chip milkshake in cake form.


I have to go into extreme detail, since, sadly, you can't taste a picture! The cake is extremely tender because it is made with buttermilk and has lots of cocoa for a deep chocolate flavor. It is covered with a layer of smooth chocolate ganache flavored with a splash of peppermint schnapps. And the icing...oh, the icing...the cake is filled and frosted with a light, creamy, Swiss meringue buttercream...not too sweet, and flavored with finely ground peppermint sticks.
